Global water resources
The earth is 71% percent water.
That 71% is divided into 97% salt water and 3% fresh water.
Of the 3% fresh water, 70% is found in ice and glaciers. That is, in a frozen state.
And only 30% is available as drinking water.
This means that of all the water on earth, only 1% is available to us as drinking water.
In fact, water is more valuable than any other product on earth. With that in mind, be smart about how you use water.
The 5 principles of sustainability
- Conservation of the ecosystem or the environment.
- Conservation of biodiversity of the planet.
- Sustainable development of the society.
- Conservation of human resources.
- Population control and management.
The problem
The water demand will increase drastically in the coming decades. Climate change, population growth and increasing energy demand are forcing states to cooperate more closely in managing water use.
Water-related problems vary from region to region, as some regions suffer from drought while others suffer from floods. There is also a shortage of groundwater. Climate change and overuse of water will lead to a situation where almost half of the world’s people will live in water-scarce areas by 2030.
Each European throws out an average of 200 to 500 plastic bottles per person a year. In most areas in Asia, you can double this number.
In 2021, we were at a million plastic bottles per minute – 91% of which were not recycled.
Many countries are fighting against single-use plastics but there has not been a straight-on functional solution for a high-demand product like drinking water, until now.
The solution
We have created a product family where Scandinavian design and standards meet superior quality drinking water.
The carbon footprint in a cardboard package is smaller than a PET bottle or an aluminum can.
Wild Things Premium water is bottled in a recyclable bio-based carton. All our packages are 100% recyclable after use.
Sustainability facts

What are the 10 R’s of sustainability?
Sustainability has been based on the behavioural concepts of the three Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. These have since developed into the ten Rs: refuse, rethink, reduce, re-use, repair, refurbish, remanufacture, repurpose, recycle, and recover that also link to the circular economy.
